Dollhouse conversion?
Okay, I have been thinking about doing this for awhile.. My daughter has a wooden dollhouse, that she no longer is interested in.
I am thinking of ways to DIY it into a hamster playhouse. It's double story, with the one side of the house is completely open.
I'm thinking of adding wooden pieces for dividing walls, with holes drilled out, so hamster can go through the walls, and drilling holes on the floors kinda like a maze?
Any suggestions? Has anyone built anything like this?

Re: Dollhouse conversion?
I was thinking of doing a dolls house cage a few months ago, but apart from them being expensive on ebay (none locally) and thinking a plastic one would be easier to clean, I was thinking it might be a bit like a habitrail ovo or rotostak cages where the rooms would be like pods. It would be nice for a hamster to own its own mansion, but attaching mesh on all windows would be fiddley. I was thinking of having one in Screech's cage as it is large enough but the shelf would have to come out.
I would love to see one that has been converted though.

Re: Dollhouse conversion?
I've been thinking of how I could converted it. I want it to be usable for an additional playhouse/toy, to put in the hammies play pen for play time. I'm working on a hand made, playhouse, for my Syrian, which is a bit different from the doll house structure. I'm brain storming a way to attach a Wodent wheel to the backside of the structure. It's taking me forever to get it done, as in making it off sight, of something I saw that is similar .

I found this. How to Build a Guinea Pig Hamster Cage MANSION
Looks good enough as a playpen for a hamster. I would not use plastic netting though. Very chewable.

I don't know how big a dolls house would be but make sure to remember the amount of space the animal requires? But this is a good idea

Thanks for the reminder .. It's actually not going to where my hams will be living. Both my hams live in a Ikea Detolf, and my Syrian, has an 55 gallon tank connected to her Detolf home.
This is actually just a "play" toy, for play time, that I would like to make for my hams
