Default Plastikote information

Hey All, I picked up a second hand ferplast cage on gumtree because it came with a full set of tubes and it was easier than buying new, with the intention to keep it as an emergency backup... however I've decided it would be nice to connect it to my current cage to give Penguin some more play space.

I'm not sure how old it is so to be safe I have cleaned it very well and I'm going to plastikote all the bars as it looks a bit faded. I bought the paint on enamel, which says it is completely dry in about 45 minutes, how long should I leave it before putting on a second coat and then before using?

Thanks for any tips

I think you can put another coat on after about 30 mins. It should say on the back of the can, but if theweather is hot, it might only be about 20 mins before another coat can be painted. Leave for a further 24 hours minimum so the paint sets and hardens. The surface might be dry, but the under neath paint could still be soft.

Thanks guys for your help - I used the whole jar just doing one coat, Plus my hands took a lot of scrubbing to get clean. Hopefully it looks ok when dry, I'll probably need to order another jar to touch it up
