Default Glue for DIY Projects?

I have been wanting to make some DIY project for a while, but am worried about the glue. I have seen people who use hot glue guns, and, although I own one of those, I am worried that, if it were to be chewed, my hammies would get sick. What kind of glue is safe for hamsters?

Hot glue sticks usually say non-toxic on the package, so they are safe, as is children's glue such as Elmer's. Any glue you consider using at should say non-toxic. I use hot glue mostly.

I use Gorilla Glue. It is non-toxic and holds really well.

I have heard of Non Toxic glue sticks for the hot glue guns. I have a glue gun, but I prefer to use PVA glue. It is non toxic and it smells lovely. It can be used for wood, paper and card and when it sets, it is clear and strong.
Other non toxic glues are ok as well, but I dont know any makes. Deffo not Bostik / Evo-stik.

Ordinary Elmer's glue works well for a lot of projects, especially the Popsicle stick-based kind.
