Let's go to the beach!
Okay, I've been working (up a sweat!) LOL. putting an connecting tank to Teddy's Detolf. I have a 55 gallon aquarium connected to the Detolf with tubes that a member recommended. (thanks, so MUCH).
I decided to do a "FUN" Summer theme, the beach. Most of the things in the tank, I've DIY'D, and painted with help from my DD, including the background. I wanted to do something fun, and cute, with colors. I have some more things that I will be adding, including an DIY Beach clubhouse/playhouse, that I will be designing and making. Also, I plan on hanging a grass mat hammock, since Teddy has grown out of chewing up her hammocks. LOL
I'll be attaching another loft/platform, as soon as I can cut it out, and that will be somewhat larger than the platform, that's currently in the tank.
I had fun, creating this theme, and I'll post more photo's as soon as it's complete.
add'l: I spelled "shak" wrong, due to a wouldn't have had room for the "c". LOL..

Re: Let's go to the beach!
I really like the beach design: very creative. Did you make the wee crocodile yourself?

Thanks, Dave.. yes, that was the first official wood item, I made with my new jig saw. LOL. I saw some similar at a pet store, decided to try and make it myself.

Very impressive, must have taken you ages.
You should do a thread on how to make the crocodile- would look great in my cage.

Re: Let's go to the beach!
awwee, thanks everyone! Well, Teddy's beach retreat is a BIG HIT! She has been going through the tubes, back and forth at least 10 or more times, and exploring and playing at the "beach", in the beach themed tank, most of the night, then travels through the tubes, to her Detolf, for a wee rest.. then she's back in the tubes, to the beach tanks. LOL.
Here are a few photo's of her first time in the beach themed tank. Please excuse the poor photo quality, she was moving constantly, and there's glare from the glass.

I free hand drew the croc on a piece of paper, then traced it onto the wood, then cut it out with a jig saw. I'll try to post a thread on how to make it.
