Default What wood is safe

What wood is safe and cheap for making levels? I need something thin as I don't want to be sawing for ever, lol. Is basal wood OK?

Do you mean balsa by "basal"? Balsa is fine for hams but its really really soft so hams can chew through it rediculously easily
We buy B&Q value pine shelving and saw it to size

LOL yes that is what I meant! I will look at the pine shelving thanks. What else is OK to use? I want cheap!! Oh and easy to saw, I need to buy a saw.
