Non slip advice for flying saucers

Both my hammies have large flying saucers and they love them. The only problem is no matter how much substrate I pack around the base the things keep slowly moving as my hams run on them. Ending up with either an awful noise waking me up as the wheel rubs against the side of the cage or the wheel stops going round....

Any tips on a non slip surface that's hammy friendly that I can put underneath them to stop them moving. I thought about using Velcro but they don't have a solid bottom to stick it on...

I drew round the base of the flying saucer on a piece of blutack and fixed it with that. If you cut it slightly smaller than the base, it should be enough to stick it down but stop it accessed to be chewed.

You might want to monitor for a few days to check it isn't being chewed but I've had one stuck on a shelf for a few months and haven't had any problems.

put a small pebble either side of the base or glue it to a small tile I did the pebble thing with mine and it doesnt move at all on failing that wire the front two bits of the base down to a bit of card bury it in substrate and it wont move.

Try adding some paper pellet bedding over the substrate where you put the wheels. I find that it helps stabilize them and also prevents my hams from digging around their saucers underneath, and then rolling right over a pile of bedding (making a lot of rubbing noise). Also helps a lot under vertical wheels, like Wodent Wheels. Also I make sure to keep my flying saucers at least 2cm away from the walls of the habitats.

But I have dwarf hams. If yours are syrians, they might just be too strong, so something physical to block the base from moving closer to the walls would help then.

A friend of mine has used velcro to attach hers to a shelf, so it must be possible somehow. I'll ask her for details next time we speak.

She says "If you look under a flying saucer wheel base I just attached inch strips of velcro to the four wider knobly looking bits, and velcro on the shelf and stuck..."

I had that problem with Jeffro's my Syrian. One day i decided to put it at an angle (so its like at 10 past and 20 to on a clock) and it hasn't budged since.

Thanks guys! It doesn't help that one of my hamsters likes to try and get underneath it.... Crazy thing!! I have no idea why but it's always in a different position every time I look in! I've popped some Velcro on order and hopefully that'll work!
Oooh I didn't even think about putting it at an angle... Silly me! I'll give that a go tonight.
