I was pretty excited, until I looked closely inside one and saw someone had put glue on the edges to keep them together. I looked at all of them to see if they all had been glued, they all were. I decided to leave them in the garage as I wasn't sure if I could knock out a side without the wood splintering (I don't know how strong the glue is, but it didn't give any when I tried tugging on a side). I rather not destroy all them trying.
I could always pick up a pair if we go back to IKEA, but they cost a lot more now than they did years ago.

Maybe you could adapt the assembled ones somehow? I'm not sure how wide these things are but you could turn it into a multi-platform creation with some cutting/sanding?

Re: Project IKEA - Platform/Level
I didn't think of cutting the side out. I'll look around and see if we have anything that will cut it. Thanks for the idea.

Re: Project IKEA - Platform/Level
I do want to make one of the holes bigger so she can go through that way, like you did. But what I really want is to take off the side of the Knuff that becomes the base/bottom of the platform out, it'll be easier to clean and to get her out with it gone. If I have the right tool, I'll cut as much of it out as I can.

Re: Project IKEA - Platform/Level
I love looking at all these idea from Ikea stuff! I cannot wait for the one near me to be built in a couple of years time! Until then, I'll just have to order online!

Thats cool. You could try using a bit of masking tape to hold bits in place while the glue is drying
