Default Blingles

So, after a hard-working day at home cooking for everyone for Boxing Day today, I decided to do something for Josh.
For Christmas, one of my many presents was Blingles Bling Studio and it's gems to stick to things, but I honestly have nothing to stick gems to. So, when I saw Josh's carrycase, I got the idea of blinging it to life!
I used an included template to make 2 stars, 2 rainbows, and decided to get creative, without templates, and I made 'Josh' I had to make each letter individually, and it took me a few hours, but I managed it. I don't know how much exactly they are because someone purchased them for me but I looked on a few websites and around £20.00 for the Blingles set is the verdict. I know this is off-subject, but I also got the Hunger Games DVD (which I've watched twice already), A signed photo of Josh Hutcherson, a mockingjay pin and a 16-month Hunger Games calendar (starting in september 2012, and ending in december 2013) So yes, here's a pic of Josh's cage, if it works. K? Good.
Pics of the carrycase didn't work but I'll keep trying soon

Is there a wheel on the cage? I heard you mention he was bar / plastic chewing and if he has no wheel he will be very bored. I'm sorry to say that these cages are too small for syrians and really hard to tame hamsters from. They are also really easy to escape from and hard to clean. They get all stuffy in the tubes and tiny plastic pods and the hamsters can get ill with the condensation.
Is there any chance of either extending or changing the cage?

I don't care what anyone says, Josh's cage is perfectly fine everyone, and he has decided not to run in his wheel but to store food in it instead.

No, that's not his carrycase. The pictures of it didn't work, but some people wanted to see his cage.

He did live in a pink one but I bought this one because the pink one was small plus Josh is male

What makes you so certain? When people who have a lot of experience of rearing and looking after hamsters are telling you that your cage is unsuitable why not listen to them? Have you seen the RSPCA's minimum cage size guidelines?

People aren't trying to be nasty to you, you've expressed concern about the well-being of your hamster and people are offering their advice and experience for how to make his life a good and healthy one.

Aside from the money aspect, what is to be lost by giving him a bigger cage? He'll have more room to play, you'll be able to put more toys in there to enrich his life and you'll be able to fit a large enough wheel in there for him to use comfortably which will keep him entertained and healthier.

We're not criticising you, a lot of people on this forum have had less than ideal cages in the past. One of the great things about forums like this is the chance to share information and give your much loved pet a better life

You should care what people have said, they are highly knowledgeable on hamsters and know what they are saying. You only want the best for Josh, correct? Then why would you deprive him of a large enough living space and a wheel. You say he just stored food in his wheel, what size was it? Too small of a wheel can cause spinal damage and the Ham may not use it if they can't fit in it and run properly.

I know people are trying to help, but I've used some other parts from my old cage to add more tubes instead of stoppers, and more things. I'm not depriving him of space, the whole cage has to balance because part of it hangs off my desk!
I can't ignore the money aspect because if I don't have enough for things, how can I buy them?
Also, I know some people here are highly knowledgeable, but it doesn't mean I don't know things as well and closely studying Josh, I know it's not his cage that's the problem. He has a big box at the back to play in and altogether, I bet Josh's cage is bigger/equivalent to a bin cage.

No one said you didnt know anyhing about hamsters, but from your posts it seems as if you are ignoring what people have been telling. They have had hamsters for years and have a ton of experiance, and its best uf you listen to them. Can you post the measurements of his cage?
