Question Bin Cages for dwarfs?

I want to make aa bin cage for my dwarf hamster, but I have some questions. Instead of a mesh on the top can I use a small drill and add tons of holes, also what will I need to make one? Also if you have any tips on things to put in it, or have pictures of your bin cages for inspiration, please share!

There are tons of different mesh options out there. I used the same size of mesh for both my dwarf and Syrian.

Here's a tutorial posted by one of the users here.

Hamster "Bin Cage" Tutorial

Instead of nuts and bolts I used cable ties myself because it was easier and cheaper.

Bin cages are an excellent choice of caging for dwarf hamsters- ours are in a bin cage (made using a bin from wilkinsons) and mesh from wickes. We cut a small ish hole in one of the shorter sides of the bin and placed some 6mm mesh which is suitable for even the tiniest little dwarves!!

But I don't think that just drilling holes would be sufficient for ventilation in my opinion, but then again if there are loads and loads of holes all around the bin I guess this would be okay...

Here's a link to a thread I started a few weeks ago when we made our bin cage, there's a couple of photos...

My new bin cage!!
