Question Are old wooden frames okay?

I wanted to use this huge wooden old frame that has glass in the middle as a platform for gizmo bin cage but i dont know what kind of wood it is .more likely to be pine.

i also wanted to know if you could use the ikea plain 3 pack frames to use?
