Is this big enough for a bin cage?
I want to make a bin cage, and I was wondering if this would be big enough.
It's about 60 cm long (Approx. 24 inches) by about 42 cm wide (Approx. 16.5 inches) and about 57.5 cm high (Approx. 22.5 inches). I would get a bigger bin but I don't have room for anything larger in my room unfortunately, and it's still bigger than any cage I would get.
Does that sound big enough? I've never used a bin cage before, but I figured it was worth a try and my dad's good with tools so making one wouldn't be a problem.
Thank you so much!

It depends on what type of hamster you have or plan to have. It would be okay for a roborovski hamster and tight for a campbell/winter white dwarf, but too small for a syrian hamster.

I'm a dwarf person :P Never had a Syrian, and I'm not interested in one either. Chances are if my stand situation works out I'll end up hooking it up to another cage, but we'll see.

It's on the small side of just good If you really can't get it any bigger, it should be okay. You probably don't need to make it that tall, unless you plan to have a second floor.
Check out these Sterilite bins too, I just wrote about them here:
WARE Natural Wood Cage for Hamsters
I think you might fit this one in just so:
Sterilite - 1757: 66 Quart ClearVIew Latch™ Box

Re: Is this big enough for a bin cage?
I'll probably add a second level if I can figure out how to add some good shelves. I might end up stacking another bin on top if the first one works out and I can figure out a good way to connect the two and if I connect them I'll probably use a shorter bin that wouldn't have a second level. If I can figure out how to connect them right when I make the first one I probably won't bother with the tall one and I'll just use two shorter ones with the same floor space.

Re: Is this big enough for a bin cage?
Well, I might be moving something out of my room if we can find somewhere else to put it and it would give me another foot or so of space so I might be able to get a bigger bin :P
