Smile Hamster Hammok

Pippy, on recommendation from her vet (more of a small animal psychologist as she deals mostly with psychological illnesses) has had to be moved into a much smaller cage for 4-6 weeks as the size of her previous one was causing her to have anxiety attacks which obviously is not going to help with her condition. If she shows improvement in the next 4 weeks she can be gradually moved to a bigger cage and (fingers crossed) if her condition improves greatly she will be able to one day move back to her old cage. This is looking hopeful as after spending just one week in the small cage she is already showing signs of changes in her behavior

Since her cage is a lot smaller than what she has lived in her whole life (just less than a 3rd of the size) she hasn't got a great deal of room for toys so I wanted to make her a few new things that she can enjoy including a second level and a hammock.

I have a rough idea on how to go about making a hammock for her but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions/instructions/pictures to help me along as the search engine results came back useless.

Any help you can give would be great. Thanks guys!

Default Re: Hamster Hammok

I make them for guinea pig's I just get two triangle piece's of fabric(i use fleece) put them good side's together and sew all round, at the corner's i put loops sewn in but you could use ribbon folded in half and the loose end's pushed inside the hammock so you can only see the fold, sew over this repeat on all corner's and carry on sewing round the edge leave a small gap along a side to turn inside out a sew up the gap neatly
