Default Hammy Makes

I posted these on another rodent forum I'm on, but only just thought of posting them here!! I made these hamsters with modelling clay and hand painted them (after they were baked) to look like hamsters that have belonged to a friend's daughter for Christmas. Their eyes are glass cabochons which I have hand painted as well to get them to look a bit more realistic : ) I made one for a friend on here too, but I forgot to take a photo!

Here they are before painting:

And here they are after:
Hamster one:

Hamster two:

Hamster 3:

I hope you like : )

They're amazing! Go you I've never tried clay modelling. Well, not as an adult. It looks so fiddly to get all the detail. It must have taken you ages

Thank you they did take ages, it took me around a night to make the shape, another night to put in fur detail using a dental tool and then two nights to paint as I had to allow each layer to dry!! I'm really glad you like them

Thank you It's taken a lot of practice, most of the things I make are very cartoony and not real at all - these are the most realistic ones I've tried to make

Thank you I had looked into selling them, but it looked like it was really hard to If I wanted to sell at all I would need to really set up as a crafting business, do tax returns (even if I never managed to sell anything) and take out crafters insurance incase anyone ever tried to make out what I made hurt them The thought of all of that really scared me. I figure though that I could make them for people who wanted them (like family and friends) and they could put what they wanted to pay into a charity instead
