Default Needle felt hamster

I'm new to needle felting, I've only made a couple of things previously but I like trying new textile crafts. I've literally just finished this little guy. He's not perfect and I may fiddle with him yet - I'd like to give him beads for eyes and maybe some pink on his claws (but I'd have to go shopping for them). But I'm pretty pleased how he turned out so I wanted to share him with you.

Oh he is adorable! Well done! I tried needle felting a few years ago and found it so hard - it takes a lot of patience doesn't it?

I really love him!

That is so adorable! I have to check that out. Do you follow a pattern? I really like that. LOL

I do have a couple of kits to make up when I get round to it and I've followed a pattern before but this one I just made up as I went along It does require a little patience but it's pretty therapeutic *stab stab stab*

I just bought a book about needle felting and will go through it. Amazon has some nice kits for this. I think I'll also look for some videos on doing this.

You can also use needle felt to add designs to things too. It doesn't have to be 3d. And wet felting is good fun too. Another aggression buster!

I have a cute fox to make next, a Jenny Barnett kit, that I'm really looking forward to making. And a friend gave me a little kit from Hobbycraft that has a giraffe & lion in it. That one one feels slightly like it's cheating as they have polystyrene cores.
I've previously made a sheep, from a magazine pattern & a free form duck

The kits are good as they come with the needles, the sponge & the right coloured roving.

I have a couple of books too. I'm terrible for buying craft books in the vague hope I'll eventually make something from them a friend was having a sort out the other day & very kindly asked me if I'd like her felting books as she wasn't using them.
