Hi Emma

Well done for getting started with cross stitch. I am sure you'll find it very rewarding.

I have been cross-stitching for nearly 20 yrs. I even taught it to primary school children, which lead to the club having a small exhibition at a local show. I have two projects on the go at the moment but my most treasured picture hangs in my bedroom. I designed it myself and it was an exhibition piece at an art display. I will get a picture of it tomorrow when the natural light is better.

Look forward to seeing your piece when it's finished.

Congrats on picking up a new hobby! I've been cross stitching for more then 20 years and love it! I generally give all my projects away as gifts and am bad about taking pictures when they are done.

I am impressed - I am too cack-handed to do it! I'm not good at sewing at all. I'm good at knitting though! Looking forward to seeing what you have made at some point!

Hi Emma. I like cross stitch & I also do a little bit of embroidery. But I only sew small things as I get bored otherwise. Birthday cards are a good project. And here in the UK we have some nice magazines that usually come with a free kit. They are a perfect size as they are usually to be made into a card or a keyring, that sort of thing. And the magazines usually have a good explanation in the back about how to get started. In fact, it's a good way to try all sorts of new crafts.

I'll have a go at anything arty though this cross stitch took years to complete because I would keep putting it down. It's not very big but the stitches are really small and the blended colours were so similar which made it very tricky
