Default Latest DIY project :)

latest DIY project
With hubbies help we made wooden shelves to hold their food dishes
It means they can eat together, not have to balance on the edge of dishes whilst eating and it just looks tidier than having all the dishes hanging and scattered around the cage
Incase your wondering, their fresh food dish is on the floor, they love foraging on the floor so tend to eat more fresh food if I leave it down there
And as an experiment they have some of the hammies Fitch on the floor of their cage, they usually have aspen, but the Fitch does seem to be working great for them
I posted this in creative corner as it's not hamster related DIY but please move it if it's in the wrong place

They look neat, smart and a very good idea. Great thinking.

Thank you Ian, I'm really pleased with how they turned out and the birds love them
I don't think they would last longer than 30 seconds in my cockatoos cage though lol

Thanks Puds

No it's not varnish Ian, it's several coats of good old clear Plastikote spray rubbed down between each coat None of the hammie stuff has ever come out with a sheen, must be something to do with the wood and the amount of coats they got

The yacht I made stayed the same colour when I sprayed it with plastikote clear and it has a nice sheen to it. It is not over glossy, but not dull plain wood look.
