Re: Míriel
Must be fun watching her perform acrobatics round the cage
Not surprised she likes the mince pie, I saw it in p@h the other day and it did look tasty!

Re: Míriel
I did sit with a silly grin on my face at the idea of Miriel pole dancing lol! Cypher, you're the queen of dwarf hams, she's definitely progressing, the best comes to those who wait.

Re: Míriel
Thanks BP, dreamtree,mangoandmimi & Lizzy
Little bit of an update on Mini Míri, there hasn’t been much to tell (apart from being super cute & funny!) as taming has been going very slowly, she’s been so good coming out every evening around 8ish & staying out even when she’s clearly nervous I decided to go at her pace rather than try to force things & have her start hiding away.
I think about a week ago maybe less her pouching & hoarding instinct finally kicked in, suddenly loads of food was disappearing overnight whereas before she would just sit & eat where the food was, at the same time she got very skittish again & was acting as though she thought I was going to steal her food, whenever I went near she would run around the cage checking on all the places I put it!
Last couple of days have been better though & yesterday was a real breakthrough with her rushing to the bars when she saw me begging for treats! Up until now it’s just been one & she won’t do it again but she had a pumpkin seed, pouched it & was looking for another which was soon pouched although she seemed to struggle a bit with that one she soon got the hang of it & I hate to think how many she had over the evening, I’m not counting lol! She just couldn’t get enough & I couldn’t pick them up quick enough for her so she was climbing the bars looking for them all over the place before I could get her another!
She’s still scared of finger tips but if I put the tips of my fingers under something she will take some food from me with my hand in the cage & yesterday finally climbed on to my hand for the first time, the feel of those little paws totally melted my heart bless her.
I can’t believe how much she’s grown now, she must be twice the size she was, still a lot smaller than Zylvan though but she is still only 9 weeks so more growing to do!
I’m sure she must be brave enough for more photos now so I’ll see what I can do in the next day or two.

Re: Míriel
Lovely that she's finally hoarding and begging for treats now. I'm sure she enjoyed all her pumpkin seeds! And sounds much more confident now putting paws on your hand bless her

Re: Míriel
She reminds me a little of Feliks, if I'm being too slow he starts to climb up the bars with his nose going in all different directions trying to figure out where, when and how the treats will arrive
I'm looking forward to seeing some more pictures of her soon

They seem to grow so much at that age don't they but since I've found that some of my Chinese have carried on growing until they're about 8-9 months old, she's still got plenty of time.
What sort of size is Zylvan? My Chinese range in size from 24g (Juno) to 53g (Jack) although Matthew was 58g at his heaviest.

Re: Míriel
Thanks mangoandmimi & BP.
I can just picture Feliks climbing the bars & hunting out his treats BP1
They really do grow fast Fluffagrams! Mine have all been around the same sort of weight, not that much difference between them although Zeki was always bigger, not that much heavier but longer! Zylvan is around 50g so about average.
I always thought Whisper was tiny when I first got her but looking back at old photos I think Míri is probably still a little smaller so definitely still some growing to do.

Re: Míriel
That sounds adorable cypher..little Miriel coming for her pumpkin seeds from you. She sounds as though she has come on so much already with you. At last the touch from little paws. It's a great moment. Eating and growing well- sounds like a contented little ham there.

Re: Míriel
Thanks Coco, I think she is one very content little ham!
Getting braver by the day now, she’ll take food from my finger tips & even got brave enough to bite my thumb which she obviously thought was a big seed rather than some big scary monster lol! She’s getting a lot more comfortable with sitting in my hand now too.

Re: Míriel
Lol, definitely getting braver with that bite! Must’ve been disappointing for her that it wasn’t a mega seed. Really lovely that she’s doing better with hands around her too.
