Thanks Serendipity, the odd thing is he's nervous but not too bad out of the cage but then he gets much more nervous & just hides away in the cage whenever I try out of cage so I'm just going slower than slow in the cage!

Lovely to see Zylvan being curious and exploring his sprouts in the pictures and video. I also enjoyed watching him eating his veg.
It does appear that Zylvan loves digging his sand bath - he made an impressive mess!
Moving day again...
Zylvan & I have reached a bit of a standstill now & aren't making any more progress, he's not happy in the small bin & it's not helping with taming/bonding at all if anything it's making things worse, it's a bit of a catch 22 situation at the moment, he gets more nervous if I try to give him out of cage time but also seems to find my hand a bit threatening in the small bin although he will still take some treats from me & usually comes out of his burrow when I call him but that's about it now.
So I decided to upgrade him properly into the 145L RUB, it looks huge compared to what he's been used to but it isn't actually that big, floor space is slightly less than a hamster heaven.
So, either he'll be happy & feel more comfortable with me or he'll be happy & I might never see him again plenty of places to hide out & a load of substrate to burrow in so he should have fun, be able to forage properly & just live more like a hamster should (imo), fingers crossed he'll like it!
I've tried to set it up to suit him, not too much open space or too much height above him but it still allows me to see most of the cage without having to take the lid off & disturb him too much & I have a nice big front door again
He'll be moving in this evening so we'll have to see how it goes, it will no doubt take time for him to settle but I'm fairly optimistic…. (hopefully not famous last words lol!)

That looks really nice Cypher. I'm sure Zylvan will like it and if not I'll send my boys down to live in it :P I hope his new bin will suit him better, it's hard to know what to do for the best sometimes (or all the time in my case!). Fingers crossed the moving goes to plan tonight and he settles quickly
