A blooming beauty so he is. What's that with his courgette & baby corn?

Re: Zylvan, another new man in my life!
Thanks everyone
He really is the sweetest
Lizzy the white stuff with his veg is tofu, they all love it although I have no idea why!
We seem to be doing the one step forward, two steps back dance with taming at the moment & he has got quite nervous again, it's a little odd that he doesn't seem overly stressed in the taming bin but gets much more nervous in his cage bin after I've tried it once or twice so I'm giving that a rest for a bit again or he's going to stop coming out completely until it's dark & quiet.
I was thinking he maybe needs to go back into the smaller bin but he does seem more tolerant of my hand in the current one & although a bit nervous of the space obviously enjoys the things that are in there so rather than change him over I'm going to try changing the layout later today to see if that helps.
He needs a proper house anyway, with all his burrowing the Christmas pudding house is now pretty much lying on it's side & just acting as a burrow entrance while he sleeps in the substrate beside it!
I have one of the smallest granite houses to try him with which will give him a better house plus a bit of an extra level to put things on & less scary space in the middle of the cage, fingers crossed he'll like my ideas....!

I hope he will! He's making it a challenge to you, isn't he? Little rascal, I'm sure he's enjoying it. He's thinking "Hahahaha I'm going to make things hard for my mum, so I can see how much she cares for me while I'm taking advantage of all those treats and special care"

Re: Zylvan, another new man in my life!
There'll always be one that likes to test us but I've normally found that my boys have been less likely to do it than my girls.
Lady May was one of those hamsters that seemed to take that one step forward, two steps back thing and at times I remember thinking I'd never get there with her but going very slowly with her was what got us there in the end. Maybe you're right and he needs a bit of a break from his taming bin... it's worth a try.

Re: Zylvan, another new man in my life!
lol! Hamsterita you could be right
He is a sensitive little soul but not too scared to come to the treat vending machine
I've found the girls just so much easier Fluffagrams, their busy, adventurous nature has worked well with my normal approach to getting to know them & bond with them.
They are all little individuals so you never quite know what's going to be best for them but we'll find our way.
