Such a lovely update about Zen and news about the boys!

Wonderful video of Zen enjoying herself nibbling on her millet. Zen is gorgeous and has such a wonderful personality - it's so sweet that she sat on her perch eatimg her chickpea and also that she climbs over the camera/iPod and sits on it - Sherbet used to do the same which made getting photos extra challenging!

Great to hear that both Tinwë and Zylvan are also doing well!

I have a confession to make I missed Zen's birthday
I didn't actually forget it but had just got it into my head that it was in May & when I checked my diary yesterday realised it had been on April 12th

I hastily assembled a birthday cake!

I thought I was prepared, camera in hand switched on but of course I should have known better lol! She was so fast up onto the bars & grabbing the cake before I even had a chance to focus or check the flash! It's a terrible photo but I still love it as it's just so Zen

She was so funny, she dashed off to take the cake up to her little yellow house by the top of her hammock where she hides all the best things but was just holding it by the candle & the cake got left behind, needless to say she was straight back & made do with taking the cage to the back of her cage where she could eat it in private.

After a nibble or two she was back looking for more treats of course & got totally spoilt with a pine nut, some sugar snap pea & a big saucer of sprouts!
She got so excited it was lovely to watch After disappearing for a short while she came back out & began to do circuits, run in the wheel, dip into the veg, nibble the sprouts, back into the wheel & then all over again for ages!
Very late as it was I think it's safe to say she had a happy birthday

I didn't manage to get any decent vids but there's a short one here where she had disappeared for a few moments, came back out & could still smell cake on the substrate but couldn't find any!

Aww Happy Belated Birthday Zen!
I love her birthday cake and I did laugh at her dropping the cake. That pic of her little face and cake is so adorable and the video made me smile.
Glad she got spoilt with other fave treats. She's so special!

She is a very special girl!

April I didn't actually make the cake, it was a piece of egg biscuit, I've never given it to them before as it has sugar in it but I'd just got some to see what it was like, very sweet so they won't get it again! I was a bit mean & took the cake out when she wasn't looking & just put a tiny piece back for her to enjoy.
The candle was a sesame stick (sold for parrots so nothing they shouldn't have in there).

Happy belated Birthday Zen That video is so funny, watching her dash around and sniffing to find more cake lol she's such a character Love the pics too, especially the one of her grabbing her cake. I can just imagine her rushing away and the cake getting left behind lol. I bet that made you laugh

It looks like she was very appreciative of all her treats. I'd thought about trying some egg biscuits too but hadn't realised they had sugar in them so I'd best give them a miss, sorry boys!

I see. I don't think you were mean though, health comes first and she will just remember how kind you were to give it to her in the first place. I will continue on my search for a hamster suitable cake, though, because I think it would be a neat idea.
