Meet the Chinese Hamsters

I can see I will be busy with the camera now I'm back on the forum! In the meantime, meet some of my guys. I've got 10 Chinese in total, of various ages, and all show hamsters at the moment though I've had rescues in the past.

Wee Mad Arthur - Male normal chinese hamster

Tulipe - Female normal chinese hamster

Lavande - Female normal chinese hamster

And, because he's a cutie, here's one of Arty when he was younger. His favourite past-time is sitting on my shoulder and nesting in my hair.

Cuties like these are why I have such a weakness for Chineseys.

I don't know what it is about the boys but all of mine have liked sitting on my shoulder. I had James sat up there a few minutes ago.

Is Wee Mad Arthur related to Wee Jock (I'm only guessing because of the names - which I think are very cool)?

Not related but I name my normal boys after Feegles

They are lovely! What kind of cages or tanks do you use for chinese? I am trying to imagine where you live lol! I keep imagining hammies in every room

Depends on the hamster. I've a selection of cages that are around a Mini Duna sized cage for the Chinese. I generally use bin cages which are easy to stack. My hamsters have a whole large room to themselves

Most of mine have been named along a theme and it's always nice to have a starting point for names. I'd have such a nightmare choosing without something to go on

I can't begin to imagine having ten though lol!

Not so sure sitting on a shoulder is just a boy thing, Zephyr loved to do that too!
