Zeki is so gorgeous and he has such a lovely face. The 2nd and the 3rd photos are my favourite.
I really like the way you have set up Zeki cage and its looks like he has plenty of toys to keep him happy.

Thanks everyone but it's been a case of if at first you don't succeed……..

Well I had mixed reviews of this layout from Zeki
He seemed to like the house & spent a lot of time in there early on yesterday morning but I could hear him gradually working his way toward the front of the cage during the day until he ended up right at the front, his burrow entrance to his house is now right by the corner of the cage door!
Unfortunately that put it at the corner of the slab where his water bowl is so I had to move that a bit in case he tipped it up which then meant it was going to get full of sand so one thing led to another & I've had another go today, he's probably going to hate me when he wakes up poor boy! I really don't like changing their cages but we have to make things fun & practical… somehow lol!
The cage just isn't big enough to do everything I want to but I don't think he'd be comfortable in anything bigger so the snoozecube had to go he has got an egg box, his second corner crush back & a fleece covered plastic tube along the back so I think it's a fair deal!
He does like to have a little private run along the back of the cage there & it was looking very open then I suddenly remembered that blue tube that I bought before he came home but never found the right place for until now, I think it works perfectly but only time will tell if he agrees.
He had totally & tightly stuffed the ceramic tube I put as an extended opening to his house which is a bit of a waste as running through the tube is good for his claws, he likes sitting in them & hiding things in them & it's one of the places I hide some of his food so I emptied it this morning, he promptly filled it up again! So I moved it, the house door is totally blocked off anyway! Hopefully he'll use it like he used to & it does have a hole in the side if he actually wants to use the proper door to his house, which I doubt he will being him.
I was watching him yesterday morning & he was either running along the tube or using the ramp to get to the top of the house but to come back down he was climbing up the back wall & over the top, presumably going into his house underneath, he does like to have a back door lol!
I've stuffed loads of substrate down there now so he has a soft landing & not far to go if he did fall.
He was also climbing the bars & sitting on top of his sand bath, maybe he wanted to get into that corner, just because he couldn't, who knows but it was a little worrying as it's a very slippy surface so I hope things are safe now, still waiting with baited breath on that one!
I'm not sure he's talking to me right now, didn't see him last night which didn't surprise me as he had a very busy day underground yesterday & he had gone back to bed very early on today so I haven't seen him since yesterday morning, just heard lots of noise & watched substrate moving, fingers crossed he'll forgive me & come round soon.

This is the new & hopefully permanent set up.

ETA well he's just been out for some food, I know he does come out in the day sometimes but he's so quiet about it I rarely see him, he doesn't have a hoard just takes a packed lunch when he goes back to bed in the morning & it isn't always enough!
He had a look in his egg box & ran through the new tube, didn't seem to panicked about the changes & took some food from me so I can't be that evil
A quick forage & a bit of a de-stress in the sand bath then he ran around looking a bit anxious the way Whisp used to do when she'd forgotten where the latest burrow hole was then just to prove me wrong he used the proper door to his house which he couldn't actually do with his previous alterations!

Looks a fab set up cypher.....I'm sure little Zeki will love it!!!

We've introduced a hammock to Pluto's cage, looks fab but he's giving it the silent treatment!

Just caught on on Zeki - I love the photos of him! He looks so happy and healthy. The cage changes sound a bit stressful lol (aren't they always) but the end result looks brilliant and I'm sure he'll settle in nicely to the change in a couple of days. It's just a change of routine for him I guess. But sometimes they approve of new changes and settle quicker to them. I'm sure he'll approve of that lovely set up. I had to move Charlie's piggy egg cup further back after finally putting the round hay house in and he didn't seem bothered as long as there was food in it lol. Zeki sounds like a real tunneler! I have often drooled over that Rodipet food bar house I always thought it wasn't big enough for a large syrian and his potty, but it's probably perfect for Zeki.

Thanks guys

Bec I'm sure Pluto will love his hammock once he gets past the "What is that strange thing in my home?" stage

Zeki certainly is a tunneller lol!
He seems to be using his house as cover for his burrow entrance more than anything, as far as I can tell he's still sleeping at the front of the cage somewhere deep underground, I heard movement last night & was rustling the substrate to try & encourage him out when it all began to move right in the centre of the cage & a little nose poked out with one eye looking at me only to quickly disappear again then out he popped from somewhere behind his house, he must have a whole warren under there!
He has blocked off the entrance to the house & I think that's a sign of approval, this is mine, keep out, in a hamster kind of way

He does appear to enjoy his new layout anyway & has lots of little routes to run around, hopefully he'll settle a little more over the next few days & we'll be able to enjoy it together a bit more… fingers crossed!

He had a new pouch yesterday, he thought it was a new pillow case for his Dobby role & was very pleased with it I had a very unexpected trip to P@H & very nearly came home with a robo but settled on a few presents for Zeki instead! I might be going back again soon though so who knows…

Serendipity I love the little food bar houses & have been drooling over them for a long time too but I do think even the larger one would be a bit of a tight squeeze for most syrians!

Nearly came back with a robo lol! You did well to resist there. I think it would be great having a robo though.

It wasn't easy at all lol! Little baby robos do look so tiny though even to me & I don't have a cage set up or anything right now so I had to be horribly sensible!
