Yea I'll always give a choice on the balls, Suzi loved it when she was young then would push away from it later in life so I never bothered. Poppy is loving it right now but she'll always have a choice.
There is some night's I wish Poppy would stay in her habitat when I've got things to do or I'm tired cos I hate leaving her while she wants out its awful seeing her little face with puppy dog eyes.

Sounds like a nice relationship you have with them!

Thank you! Need to put a wheel in there tonight! Think I'll use a Silent Spinner this time and attach it to the bars. Edit: left the wheel that was part of the cage in there after I found out that it wasn't that loud. After all it is the wheel she has used throughout her life so I'm happy to leave it in the cage for her!

Re: Easter Chinese Rescue
Izzy came out for a run at 8:45pm with the house lights on. She got some water & some food went up the tube to her nesting area & now she's doing her hammie thing in her cage with chews & a wheel for now. Wish I could offer her more! Nice to know she's already a little brave on night #1!

Re: Easter Chinese Rescue
Awww Izzy is just adorable, they do have big eyes, & ears which I think makes them totally impossible to resist
Congrats on your new lovely friend, I'm sure she's happy to have a new home & just needs a little time to settle in & get to know you now

Re: Easter Chinese Rescue
Izzy is going for a complimentary vet visit in a week
Will take her whole cage to the vet
Her colorful critter cage, they might scratch their heads? But she'll be less stressed that way!

Re: Easter Chinese Rescue
Izzy's a sweetie. I hope she settles in soon
When you take her for her check, I'd suggest taking her in a carrier rather than her cage. It's easier to get a hammy out of a carrier and safer in the car.

I have an old style cage where the nesting bed lifts off so you can reach your hand right in the cage & lift her out. If I put her in my small clear plastic carrier, she'd be really scared. The cage is so light? I'll think about it though overprotective mommy
