May was quite calm when she was in the shop but she ended up as real live wire and an absolute character.

At the moment I've got one who is super calm and docile and one who is completely hyper. Both are equally cute but have something different to offer me. It's difficult to recommend which one to get but if you'd prefer to have one that likes a cuddle then I'd go for the calmer one.

Chinese can live quite a long time for hamsters and there's a chance that you could still have another year with them if they are two. My oldest lived until he was three years and seven months with his brother living to nearly three. They do calm down a bit in their old age but still make super lovely pets.

I'm not helping you resist am I?

I have bad news, the more active Chinese hammie was sold last night. The docile one was there today but she bit me pretty hard. I can see that she is scared but I decided against it for now. Thanks for everybody's help! I was all ready to bring one home so I'm kind of disappointed. When she bit me I decided not to do it. There will be more opportunities I'm sure, but I really should get off this wanting to get a new hammie again idea. Lets see if I can resist & for how long

That's a shame
I know we want to rescue them all & really can't but I think that would have made me more inclined to take her home, Chinese are rarely biters but the poor little thing has been stuck in the store with different people with strange scents coming & going probably all wanting to handle her so she's not happy at all & just wants to be left in peace for a bit.

I'm sure, poor baby! She definitely could use some tender loving care! There's a robo that needs rescuing too, thinking on that...

If I don't feel a connection right from the beginning I'm less inclined to try... sometimes I bond with them right at the pet store, that's what I'm trying to find anyways?

I went to another pet store and saw a white female robo about as cute as Latte(my white robo 10 mo) but not quite just as cute, almost as cute and she was very curious I really liked her but I got out of the store real quick and went home! They had a real cute sandy brown one with white eyebrows (agouti), another female, real sweet... but I still got out of the store! Yay! I survived ultimate hammie temptation today & yesterday! Think I got it out of my system now? Hope so anyways?

What is this, all it takes it one look at the hammies in a pet store and I go on a wild hammie frenzy? Thankfully I forced myself home! Now I just have to stay away from all pet stores until a cage opens up, which won't be for over a year, but that's ok cause I'm more than happy with the 4 I have now I just want a small pet store in my apartment . There will always be more down the road...

I don't know I think I'm folding under the pressure, I want that white robo! It's almost a 1/2 hour drive so I'd have to turn around and go all the way back to the store again to get her. Then I'd have two female white robos! I have a bin cage made up for her already! I'm on my way!

That will be 5 hammies total!
