Re: Meet Whisper
Little Wisp is leading me a bit of a dance with taming so far, two (or maybe 3 if I'm lucky!) steps forward & then one back again! She can be really confident one day then timid & nervous the next, (so no real photo opportunities sadly) she is just so sensitive to me touching her nest it's mad!
Luckily she doesn't pee much so I only have to take a tiny bit of tissue out from the top but that's still enough to set her back again *sigh*, if I even touch the fitch mountain over the entrance she immediately begins sniffing & digging it over again which is really funny to watch but she's obviously not well pleased with mum interfering
The weather has been horrendous & so loud we've had a few evenings when none of the hams have ventured out of their nests so I've missed some opportunities to spend time with her, we're getting there though & there's no rush, she had a little run around in my sleeve this morning which was just so cute I think she might have been in search of more of the chicken treats they all had yesterday, they certainly won her over
Here's her fortress!
She goes up to her hammock, down the bendy bridge & down the side of the house to burrow in from underneath, the entrance is well & truly blocked off
Quite an impressive mountain for such a tiny girl

Re: Meet Whisper
Such a lot of work has gone into that! What a sweet girl. Still she is truly making it into her home and so must be settling down well.

Looks like she's making her house her home....bless her!
Weather has been awful, even Neptune's been buried deep in his Fitch!

Re: Meet Whisper
It's an impressive fortress! It might be more the weather than being nervous with you as Charlie has been very skittish too. He jumped every time he heard a gust of wind last night. We had a power cut for 12 hours too.

Re: Meet Whisper
What a very clever girl and what a fortress. Desmond's been busy here too and I haven't ventured out today and Twinkle's been the same.
It's funny, how they can be so ocd about certain things. Twinkle was like that when I got her, she hated me touching her coconut house.

Re: Meet Whisper
Ounce for ounce, Whisper is a real good little worker, isn't she? I love her nesting ability!

Re: Meet Whisper
lol! DrK ounce for ounce, she's barely weighs more than an ounce so I am pretty impressed
Just like every little ham she is turning out to be quite a big character so I'm enjoying getting to know her even if it is going a little slower than I'd like, hopefully the weather will settle at least a bit soon & she'll get more used to me cleaning up without feeling so threatened, watch this space
