Ooh exciting! A new baby chinesey! How did I miss that yesterday. The set up looks great and she sounds adorable. Charlie was a pet shop hamster too and is very healthy so far! (about 18 months now).

I'm jealous of the ceramic house and tubes! I'd like the bigger versions. Interesting that she chose that for her home though - maybe the tube holes attracted her in. I wondered if they might find ceramic a bit cool in the winter, but clearly not! I'm sure she has it all cosy in there anyway.

I drool a bit over the fuzzbutts hammocks too - I have to resist getting one for Charlie because even out of the cage he'll try and chew fleece (which is why he only has it out of the cage) so I have to keep an eye on him with it and say no, then he stops. I think in his little Syrian mind, anything soft like that is for pulling bits off to pouch and take back to his nest to line it with.

I was quite surprised how warm the ceramic house stays Serendipity, before I brought her home when I was messing with the cage on colder days I was expecting it to feel a bit chilly but it didn't at all so with lots of tissue & a bit of body heat I'm guessing it's pretty cosy in there! She's got a good few other places she could sleep if she wanted so she must really like it

That's good to hear! Now I really want one of the bigger Syrian ones lol! Maybe it'll have to wait until he's in a bigger cage - and funds allow.

Well this is just excellent news! :3 she's a very pretty little girl, I'm looking forward to seeing how she grows up!

That cage setup looks really fantastic too, I'm sure she can't believe her luck landing in such a mansion!

I did get a few brief glimpses of my girl during the day, a very cute face peering out at me from under her rainbow bridge but was a bit disappointed yesterday evening as I was really tired & starting to fall asleep before she got up, I stood by the cage listening for any underground noises but nothing so I had to go to bed without seeing her which was a real shame but she more than mede up for it this morning!
I can't believe how quickly she's coming on considering it's still only day two
Very conveniently she didn't get up until I'd had time with the others & they'd both gone back to bed then out she popped, straight over to her veg bowl where she tucked into another new experience, a few fenugreek sprouts (I think her life is still one really big adventure!) so I went over to the cage & she came straight to the bars, after feeding her a mealworm I tentatively opened the cage door & she did run around at the back of her cage for a moment but peered out at me from her hammock & took some seeds from my hand, after that she just kept coming back for more, happily sitting in my hand munching on seeds, melting my heart perching on the side of my hand with a soya flake in her paws while she nibbled on it She's so tiny she was struggling to stuff her little pouches bless her but gave it a good shot lol! She came back so many times I had to go & get her food which I'd planned on feeding her later as there's only so many treat seeds a little girl should have in one day!
She even let me carry her across the cage just above the substrate with no bother at all, a little nervous when I stroke her back or cup my hand over her but not enough to scarper!
While she was having a rummage in her egg box I had a peek in her house & it's so cute, a very neat little hoard on one side & a tiny round hole on the other where she's burrowing down to sleep underneath.
She's not using the entrance hole which is buried in fitch but goes to the corner of the cage & burrows down the tiny space between the house & side of the cage & goes in from the bottom, typical Chinese lol!

I managed to grab a few more photos but only managed to upload one before photobucket began to be a real pain & won't play ball so I'll try to upload the others later so you can get a better look at my sweet little girl.

Excellent news! What good progress! Do you know how old she is? She's so small!

Oh wow, what a brave teeny tiny little lady!! She is incredibly tiny and incredibly sweet :3

I know, I'm quite amazed at her!

As far as I know she's 10 weeks, she's been in the shop 3 weeks & they said they get them in at 7 weeks.

The only downside of all this is I can't help thinking about the 2 I had to leave behind (not to mention the stunningly beautiful little russian I really, really wasn't even looking at!) 3 weeks in a tiny glass tank with just a bit of shavings & a couple of hideouts, I so wanted to bring them all home but I just can't
I just hope someone comes along to give them all a nice home.
