If you don't want to spend a huge amount the Karlie wooden wheels are really quiet.

Are they the ones on Zooplus? I've got an order to put in there soon anyway so could add it to make the most of the delivery.

Yes they are, this one, I've had several & they've all worked well & very quietly, they do need a couple of coats of plastikote inside before use though.

That's the one I thought it might be.
What size have you used for your Chineseys?

Re: Lord James, Earl of Metallica
I've always used the 20cm, the 15cm would be too small.

That's what I was wondering. He can run in his 6.5" Silent Spinner with a straight back but that's a bit bigger than the 15cm wooden wheel on Zooplus.

Re: Lord James, Earl of Metallica
I've never quite understood how the silent spinner seems bigger than it is! It's the only wheel under 20cm I've found suitable.
This might give you an idea of the size, it's the cork lined one but everything else is the same as the normal wooden one.

Re: Lord James, Earl of Metallica
Wooden wheels and Chineseys aren't a combination I'd go for - eeeew! James's brother has a junior wodent wheel, and he too has taken up wheel running after spending his first year using the wheel as a nest box!
I hope James hits his second peak on the other end of his midlife crisis. He needs some more COMs - and to not channel his inner hedgehog

James would probably have done the same if I'd have given him an enclosed wheel, his Silent Spinner was often just a nice place to sit until recently.

Me too. He's got a couple of months before he's shown again so hopefully by then he'll have decided that looking like a nice Chinese Hamster suits him more than trying to look like a hedgehog.

If you mean the pee Vectis all mine love to pee in their wheels but with plastikote I've had no problem keeping them clean & pong free!
