I got Sandy on September 26th, 2014. When I first got her, like many Chinese hamsters she was very shy and timid. With lots of patience and time since then she has warmed up to me (: Sandy is still very shy and often gets nervous when you lift the lid off her tank, but once you pick her up, she is perfectly fine. Sandy is very gentle and has never bitten or even nibbled me before. She absolutely LOVES running through blankets and going underneath your clothes. Sandy is a very picky eater and refuses to eat many fruits or vegetables that I give to her; however, she loves pumpkin seeds! I named this hamster after the squirrel from Spongebob and also after Sandra Dee from Grease. I almost bought a male Chinese hamster shortly after I got Sandy, but decided against it for many reasons. I probably would have named him Danny to go along with Sandy (:
