Really pleased to hear that Rainbow. Did your vet say just to finish the meds or to go back for a check up? I imagine if his eye goes back to normal again with no swelling, redness or discharge he`ll probably be fine. x

Aw, that`s not so good. It`s strange, but of all the hamsters I`ve owned, I`ve never had to have any of them have their teeth looked at. Maybe I`ve just been lucky. Can he manage normal nibbling? Does he drop food or can he manage his normal mix okay?

Hes still eating plenty, lots of babyfood and still managing his mix. Will be trying to take him back to vet either tomorrow or Monday. I've hurt my legs and have to walk there so might be monday!

He's a little superstar taking his meds like that. Glad he's doing well.

Maybe the vet can check your legs while you are there!!!! Hope all goes well. Has he had his teeth trimmed before? Just curious really because I remember my tooth trimming trips with my gerbil and the poor wee guy, he got his teeth trimmed (he has one long, jagged lower tooth only) but it kept growing too fast and I remember having a horrible time trying to feed him soft food and his body condition deteriorating. He had an injury to his teeth though rather than being old or requiring this to be done, otherwise it wouldn`t have been necessary. x

Nope he's never had his teeth trimmed, last week was the first time he's ever had to go to the vets poor thing. He's on metacam anyway so he shouldn't be uncomfortable from his teeth. I can only assume it's from old age, he doesn't bar chew and he's always eaten well. He doesn't chew toys/cardboard a huge amount though so that won't help!
