After much deliberation (and realizing I'm going to be hammyless during the week since Darwin will be returning with me to school), I decided to get a new furbaby. This is my first Chinese furbaby & I am SOOO excited!!! Look at that tail...isn't it too cute I snapped a few pics as I put her into her tank, but I'll give her a few days to settle in & then I'll begin taming. She's living in Smudge's previous IKEA hack tank:
She is SOOOO fast & a tad bit jumpy (as I observed as they were collecting her to place in the carrier to go home, but she didn't bite...not once, so that's a good sign
Aw, well done Kiki for choosing a Chinese hamster! Her cage is just awesome! She is going to love it. Don`t be surprised if she comes across as a little shy or wants to take her time. Chinese hamsters are just like that, but she will settle down over time. handling I would do slowly and only on her terms. Chinese usually like to walk onto a hammock or into something they feel safe inside, then will happily play on your knee. Just watch if your wearing a long sleeved t.shirt or she`s likely to get into the sleeve and disappear!!! They like to do that...

Thanks racinghamster! . You have been so much help in my research! I am looking forward to the day when I can cuddle her, but I'll have to be patient...baby steps
