With the croc and hedgehog chews, the orange one's are a firm fave with all my hammies! They will go for the green ones but not as much, and they won't touch the yellow ones. As for colour safety, I'm unsure but just assumed they are all safe for rodent's as they're all sold on ratrations xx

Flower used to love to chew on cardboard food boxes. Carmelita seems to favor her wood barbell or the edge of a 'totally chewbular' tube... or a walnut shell (with walnut in it, of course).

Re: Suggested gnawing items !
Hi
Thanks for all the advice she is still gnawing the plastic wheel latest damage in photo ! To try and make her gnaw the biscuits and not just store them I have wedged it into her log so far it's working ! I have had to once again take her wheel away from her and just give her supervised wheel sessions ! She's like an unruly teenager at the mo albeit a very gentle non aggressive one!

Re: Suggested gnawing items !
In the past I have given hamsters walnuts (in the shell), dried corn on the cobs, treat bars (the ones you hang up), dog treats, cat food boxes (the cardboard is very thick), egg boxes and grass hammocks to gnaw on instead of the bars.
The most popular was the grass hammock which was from Zooplus and dog treats.
I did have to take everything plastic away from one of my hamsters though, as he just would not stop gnawing.

I also just read today that you can wipe peanut butter on wooden chewtoys to try to get them interested in the toy. It says to put it on the toy & them basically wipe it back off...just to leave the hint of smell on it
