Thanks everyone! Yes, i thought everyone wouls agree with me that they are females. Would be a bit obvious if they were male me thinks

Sorry, i did have problems trying to get the pics on, I will use the link in future, i promise

The taming is coming along well. I had them out again last night and i've also learned when i handle one to handle the other also. If i've had one out and put her back in, the other gets annoyed that she hasnt been out i think and they seem to argue!! This is a very good tip i got from another chines hamster owner, worth noting....

Lovely little girls indeed. You are doping so well with them, and don't be disappointed with your progress to date. Chinese are very friendly little hamsters and will tame up with continued patience. They are always best bought from a hobby breeder as they do benefit from handling from a a young age but it is never to late to start. Next time you are in Pets at Home maybe ask to speak to the manager or assistant and just let them know you were sold two males as females and you are just lucky they are both the same sex....
When they are tamer they are great pets to let out and run around your body. not as fast as Dwarf hamsters and more nimble and dexterous than all species, they cling to your hands and hair and have such a gorgeous low shuffle walk.

Climbing tubes are a waste of time apart from hiding in as Chinese are scared of heights and I found they would even shy away from open runged ladders preferring to traverse solid surfaces.

If you are free 9th September and can get to Polbeth West Calder near Livingston you can meet some more Chinese hamsters and hobby breeders. There is a train station nearby which my other half is happy to do taxi service to from for those requiring it.

Aw thanks very much babyboos, thats really appreciated! I was on another forum, formerly hamstercare and i know you recently sold 2 female ww's to lilacmoonbeam. They are gorgeous and soo cute I have had a wee look at your website and hopefully one day in the future would love to get some more hammies from you.

Its good to talk to someone who knows a lot about them as not many people have had experience with them. I was thinking i had done something wrong along the way but they are gradually getting there

Re: Pets @ Home - not that i can talk but they really dont have a clue!! I was in a few weeks ago and there was 2 teenagers in buying 2 chinese hamsters, they barely looked old enough to look after themselves never mind 2 wee baby hamsters. Knowing how difficult i have found them god knows how they're coping!! Even when it came to them buying, they were scraping the money together and were short so i helped them out!! The staff gave them the bare essentials on what they needed and gave the usual talk of letting them settle in for a few days. As far as my story goes with them, i think i might do just that...it was the one in Drumchapel i bought them from as my local in Renfrew didnt have any

They loved their tubes at first but noticed one was getting very territorial with them and when the other went up was faced with a little tiff!! I have now added more toys for them as you can see in the following. I have, however, slightly changed this about recently.

Thanks for letting me know about the upcoming event on the 9th, i am off to sunny Mexico on the 4th so will miss it unfortunately. Nice of you to offer, thanks!
