Living World Eco Habitat, M review
I recently bought this cage for a new hamster I knew I'd be adopting and since he's nice and settled now I thought I'd do a review.
Firstly, I'll speak briefly about where I got it from and delivery time and whatnot. I bought mine from Zooplus and bought the medium size (it also comes in small or large). This size provides a good space for your hamster, larger than the minimum size requirements. It's measures in at 98.5 x 58.5 x 61 cm internal measurements and was delivered flat packed in about 2 days (which was AWESOME). This meant I could get Sandy this week rather than next so I was really impressed. It was very simple to put together and took me under 20 minutes total to do.
So now some Pros:
The home is large which allows for lots of space for toys and play time.
Clear side panels allow for all around view of your pet
Ventilation holes in the lid allow for toys to be hung from the top (Sandy loves these)
Deep enough to allow for a bunch of substrate allowing hours of burrowing fun. Also leaves space on top for a nice large 9-12 inch wheel!
Cons:
I have very few issues, Sandy loves it so far. My only issue is the lid but even then I'm really pushing for an issue. I find the lid makes it seem very dark if the tank is kept on the floor (as mine is) and out of directly light. I'll likely end up making a lid with mesh on it (for easier hanging of toys).
Overall, it's perfect for a Syrian, Dwarf or Chinese hamster and I'd recommend it if you're looking for something easier to look into.

Excellent! Interesting to hear about the lid making it seem dark. I always thought the lid needed meshing anyway as hamsters have been known to escape through it (by scaling a wheel or even getting a foothold on the side holes! But making a mesh lid sounds like a good idea. Escape proof and lighter.

I have this cage to and I luv it! I think it's really beautiful to!
There's only one thing that could make it perfect for me and that would be a front door, maybe one day I will try to make gliding doors.

When we were choosing a bigger cage I saw this and agree it looks very stylish and great for watching your hamster. Pleased to hear your hamster and you are very happy I often wondered if the lid might be heavy, am surprised it can make the cage interior light dark. Great review!

I also have this cage. The lid is very light weight but the holes seem quite big. I will be altering it and meshing it so that it lets in more light and air.
I have heard people say that withna lot of substrate in it can bow out letting bits fall through at the bottom.
I also wish it had a front door as its quite tall to reach in to for cleaning. I have mine on a low ikea lack table.

Just looked on the Zooplus website and sometimes it says when an item is due back in stock.
Which size are you after? it’s says living world large cage will be back in stock on the 7th. You can sign up for email notification so you don’t miss out. Although no date for medium but keep checking daily for a date.

Tried looking for the cage elsewhere in medium but they are more xpensive than the large on Zooplus.

Re: Living World Eco Habitat, M review
Hello SKB, days and days ago the medium said it would be back in stock two days ago, so I waited and then it came to that day and it just went back to saying "Out of stock". I was debating between this cage and the Detolf and have decided to go for the Detolf anyway now haha.
Thank you for your advice and time

Re: Living World Eco Habitat, M review
I have this enclosure and my hammie seems very happy with the space and all the enrichment it can fit in- he doesn't try to escape, though when I leave the lid open he can climb out for playtime.
The only thing I didn't like was the wooden floor- I thought this might stain or soak up pee, so I bought a thin perspex sheet cut to size and fitted this before using the enclosure for the first time- it works a treat! so easy to sweep and clean.
I had to rub lemon juice on the wooden frame, as despite lots of chew choices, my little, little love decided to gnaw these instead- one treatment was all that was needed though.
I put a couple of plastic hooks on the outside of the frame on the back, so I can put up a themed backdrop- it gives him a bit of cover and sets off the interior theme so well- currently its autumn flowers, it will be a snowy scene with a Christmas tree on the 1st December, his interior will be a gingerbread house aesthetic

Re: Living World Eco Habitat, M review
Hi all, long-time lurker and first time poster
Does anyone know where to buy the LW eco habitat medium size in the UK? I've checked all over the internet and Zoo Plus, Amazon and others are either sold out or don't list it all together anymore
