The tank comes with the lid. It came from Zooplus.

Is this cage really not suitable for a Syrian hamster. I was thinking about this one as it looks easy to clean and being glass the hamster is easily seen. Also, no mess and no chewing the bars.
I have read on an Amazon review that it can leak with their urine. But if it’s not suitable for a Syrian hamster i need to have a rethink on another home for one.

Pazzie it would be much too small for a Syrian, I found it too small for a dwarf ham tbh & most Syrians need a good amount of space more like 100x50cm, & enough height for a large wheel, up to 12" depending on how big your ham grows
Have a look on Zooplus at the Alaska, Barney & Alexander which are the most popular cages for Syrians.

Thanks Cypher, I won’t be considering this home anymore. I’m not keen on wire cages because they can be messy and noisy from previous experiences.

I couldn't get on with a tank either - you can interact more with them with a barred cage and front access on a cage helps too.

I have one of these for the gerbils - it took 5 attempts before they managed to deliver it to me in one piece & they ended up supplying it FOC because of all the hassle - it's a cracking tank for the gerbils though, I can't see it would be big enough for a Syrian - I actually added a gerbilarium topper with a ladder on mine so they have two levels - one is pure digging, the other is their litter tray, food & wheel - I have seen people add rotastak onto the top to do something similar - it looks amazing

Zooplus has such nice products, I wish they were more accessible in the US. The Kerry terrarium looks nice, Serendipity7000. Thanks for the thorough review
