Smile Is the Hamster Heaven cage good for a Syrian hamster?

This isn't a review, but I didn't know where to put it, so...

Anyway, I have a Syrian hamster, Delilah, and I want to upgrade her cage. I got her in August and has been in a 20gal tank from the beginning. I was looking at the Lixit Animal Care Savic Hamster Heaven Metro Cage, and it seems very nice. I was just wondering if anyone was against it for whatever reason or any pros/cons that you can think of.

Thank you in advance!![/COLOR]

If you search for the Hamster Heaven, you should get plenty of results about it, reviews, mentions etc. It meets the RSPCA minimum requirements (last time I checked) so it should be OK, but I'd wait for someone who's had the cage to offer some insight and wisdom into the suitability for Syrians.

EDIT: Here's a link to one of the more recent reviews. I'll find a couple more .Hamster Haven Metro Cage - review

The Hamster Heaven is a great cage, I've used it several times. It has a huge door which is a big plus! The tubes can be a little tight to do when you first get a new one and can be a little icky to clean when your hamster gets older and less able to get down to their pee corner.
The only reason I don't have them any more is they don't stack well when you have more than one.

I have this cage and think it's really good, only thing is you could probably get a bigger cage (like the barney) for the same price or even cheaper. But it is really nicely made and the door makes for easy access. The one bad thing I can think of is that the penthouse can get a condensation build up, so I don't tend to use it.

You could also look at the Lixit Mickey 2XL (Savic Mickey 2XL). It's basically exactly the same cage as the Hamster Heaven but with smaller (7mm) bar spacing. You don't get all the plastic shelves, tubes and penthouse, you just get the basic cage, a sputnik, water bottle and food bowl. Plus some tubes which are only big enough for a mouse! There's also a wire shelf in it that needs to come out. But it still has the same nice big front opening door and might be cheaper than the Hamster Heaven - possibly.

With the smaller bar spacing it's suitable for a syrian or dwarf so could be more futureproof - and you can set it up how you want.

If it's for a Syrian there's also the Marchioro Goran 82, which I think is an even better cage. Also has a big front opening door, and has just a little bit more height so it's easier to fit a wheel in without losing substrate area. And it's quite a bit cheaper from this site - $107. It comes with a nice rat tube that's a good toy as well!

I haven't used it before but from what I've heard the Hamster Heaven is a great cage! It meets the requirements for a Syrian hamster, has some nice accessories and is a decent price. The only con I can think of is the penthouse where condensation might build up and make it unhygienic for your hamster to sleep in.

If you are in the UK you can also get a Barney cage which is bigger for a cheaper price or an Alexander for not much more but is the biggest cage sold for hamsters.

If you are in the US, I'd recommend the Goran 82 as well, it provides slightly more floorspace and it's easier to fit an 11"-12" wheel in. It's also cheaper!

Thank you so much for the responses! Much love <3

Also, is this cage suitable for just a Syrian or could it be suitable for a Winter White as well (obviously not at the same time).

It just about meets the requirements for a Syrian so yes in that sense it would be suitable
I'd be a bit cautious about bar spacing with a WW as its 1cm xx

Thank you, freyashamsters! What spacing would you (or anyone else) recommend?
