Austins hamster haven (on facebook) have loads of hamsters of all ages and they will probably deliver to you (though you may be a bit to far). All the hamsters come tamed and happy and they are doing great work. So if and when it comes to that I would think of them

I got my first rescue from gumtree but it was such a wrenching horrible experience I think I wouldn't be able to do that myself again so my other rescue is from Austins.

I get so angry at those tiny cages they have, when I have talked to people who have them about it (I am super polite I promise) they get really defensive - my hamsters happy what are you talking about???! (with that wheel that's damaging their spine and so little space they are going to die young and sad).

I will keep that in mind. I wouldn't mind travelling a few hours to give a hammy a good quality life and lots of love. When the time is right I will ask around on here and I will have a look at the FB page x

Maybe try re-word it a bit. There's some points you make that are quite useless to mention such as the Chinese hamster fact (Very interesting though, although it isn't reviewing the product). You also word things in a way which make it sound like you're bashing pets at home, not the product. So maybe try make things more about the cage and items it comes with rather than everything else It should get posted then x

Whilst I know that people mean well, cage sizes can be quite an emotive subject as there could be a variety of reasons why a hamster may be in a smaller cage than many people are quoting, some of which may be very valid reasons and may not be apparent to an observer.

I had to downgrade one of my Chinese Hamsters to a smaller cage a couple of months ago because of significant anxiety in larger spaces. Believe me, I tried everything I could to help him settle in a larger cage and it broke my heart to see my normally friendly and relaxed hamster behaving in that way. I once posted a photo of his cage online and was told by a stranger that his cage was too small. This person probably had the right intentions, however they knew nothing of my hamster's situation or what steps I had already taken to improve his living situation. In my hamster's case it would have been more cruel to keep him in the larger cage than to downgrade him.

I agree Fluffagrams, I only really mention something if I see one person with multiple hamsters each having small cages. Chinese tend to do better in smaller cages. I have to explain in all my posts why Winston has a 60cm x 30cm cage, it's annoying but it avoids people from commenting on cage size.

I also bought this terrible cage for my first ever hamster. I was told by a pets at home store colleague that is was a perfect size for a syrain hamster. Once my hamster was half of her fully grown size, she couldn't fit in it. I currently use mine as a travel cage aswell!
