Living World Green Eco Habitat - Review
I recently got the Living World Green Eco Habitat and thought I write a short review.
Overall I think it is a fantastic cage. It's nice and big and I love watching my hammy explore the cage. I also think it has a really good looking design, almost like a piece of furniture. I have the medium size, but all sizes are suitable. The small and medium sizes can be bought on Amazon and zooplus also sells the medium and large sizes. It has a wooden frame into which you slide the plastic panels and it is ventilated through holes in the top and the sides. I used plasticote to paint the base, so it would be easier to clean and last longer.
Pro:
- all sizes are suitable for Syrians and dwarfs
- looks nice
- has wheels, easy to move around
- tanks style, good for observing the hamster
- good ventilation
- easy access
- easy to clean
Cons:
- expensive
- might need extra meshing for Syrians, a determined Syrian might be able to escape through the top
- wooden frame, so unsuitable for chewers

Re: Living World Green Eco Habitat
I also have the medium one. And a syrian. She is unable to climb out. I doubted it at first, and when I had her dig box in (which is very tall) I put a heavy book over the lid holes on that side.
However on reflection as I haven't put any levels in there is no way for her to be acrobatic and get into the big holes. She couldn't get through the slot as they're too thin, but the holes are big enough. They are placed in a way that without something to stand on directly under them there is no way she can get to them.
She began gnawing on the wooden side bits that the plastic slides into, so I placed a large house/toy on each corner. She had been digging down and gnawing the bottom corners, she hasn't shown any interest in gnawing the wood above her substrate, so the toys have conkered that problem.
The plastic sides have little air holes that could be sharp. We haven't had any problems with Freya hurting herself on them, but worth keeping an eye on. She hauls herself up on the top layer of the 2 sets of air holes and kind of does lift ups and scratches with her back feet to tell us she wants out. She doesn't do it any other times, only when she wants to play. This has badly scratched the sides. However it's not effected the look of it, and I put a big scratch down the front whilst cleaning it. Again it isn't noticable unless you know its there. If it gets too bad we'll just take the measurements and get either reinforced glass or plastic made to measure to replace them.
We've had it since February and it's lovely. We added our own feet to it to make it taller for me. This does mean you can't actually move it lol.

It's also sold on amazon, sometimes it's a bit cheaper than zooplus, but you have to watch the prices.

Re: Living World Green Eco Habitat
It is amazing, but may not be great if you have a wood nibbling hammy lol.

I really like the look of those. I would get one but the prices are ridiculously high compared to DIY cages that can be just as big.
