Well I just bit the bullet and my little lady has a new Hamster Heaven on route to her. I hope she likes it. She deserves the best, funny little girl, cheers me up every time I look at her.

I will add to this review that I had a hamster escape before because of the tubes, so keep checking on them to make sure they are sturdy!

Thank you for that interesting tip! I most certainly will check and I am going to purchase the stoppers just in case so I am fully armed. I will also keep her smaller cage as a back up. No way will I do anything to put her in danger, dear little soul. x

The savic arrived today and it did come with stoppers, I will see how she goes with the tubes though, she likes a good old clamber around. I am super excited to get her all set up in it later when she wakes up!

I bought a Hamster Heaven Metro minus the penthouse for £14.50 got it for £29 second hand off eBay, but it got a crack in the base during delivery so seller refunded me 50% . I glued the crack and covered it with tape. Thankfully Poly isn't interested in peeling the tape off.

I removed the tubes due to Poly sleeping in there and becoming stinky due to lack of ventilation!

Thanks for the review! I've never owned a hamster before and I've been looking around for cages for my (currently hypothetical) furry friend! This cage really caught my eye because it's one of the only ones I could find that is really a decent size!

The only thing that worried me slightly was a few reviews I found saying that hamsters were dislodging the penthouse and external tubes and escaping, but by the sounds of things these can just be removed and safely closed over?

Also for anyone looking for one new at a slightly lower price, Amazon UK is currently stocking one at just under the £53 mark. Unfortunately I can't post a link since I'm too new

I'm so jealous! I live in the US and I'm dying for this cage but can't afford it!

HH is the cage I have and I have had no problems with escapes whatsoever (I guess my hamster was not clever enough ) and thankfully he never thought of actually living in the tubes. Cleaning it is a pain, but hey what can I do? I am thinking about extending it by placing another HH cage on top of my first one, just to give more space to my new hamster (when I get one!)
