Re: Ferplast Mini Duna
After foolishly buying a Savic Spelos for my two hamsters when I intended them to live together, I found out they were boy/girl and had to be separated. I didn't like the Spelos at all, so returned it and bought two Ferplast Mini Dunas, instead.
They've been in them a week now and seem pretty content. With the level, there's plenty of space to run around (although they also take to hiding under the level), and as there's only one in each there's enough room for a regular Silent Spinner and a few other items. I use the food bowls that came with the cages as sand baths - I just scatter the food among the sawdust and they seem to like scrabbling for it.
One challenge has been getting water bottles for the cages. I didn't like the sippy bottles that come with them, but am not a fan of water bowls either. Right now I'm using test-tube type bottles that attach via suckers inside the cage, but I'm not convinced the water always flows properly in them. At this rate I might give the sippys another go.
But overall I like these cages and think they are a good size for up to two Robos.

Re: Ferplast Mini Duna
Pickles my syrian is in a ferplast duna, she loves it! She was in a rotastak pink palace but the chewing of the bars around the circular unit was driving me mad!! Her duna has much more room for toys and she has loads more room to run about and she loves doing the trapeze act from the ceiling bars! Pickles looks to have plenty of room in this cage and i thnk with adequate exercise, handling, and stimulating toys inside, the ferplast mini duna is fine for a syrian also.

Yeah gota agree Robyn_Pickles. I just bought 1 of these for my Syrian girl. Its got all her nessersary stuff in it and a Puzzle playground, a 6" by 6" sand bath (or is that more of a pool, LoL) and big wooden chews. Oh and 1 corner full of nest/bedding and still loads of floor space for her.
Like others Iv changed the water bottle as the one that comes with it is set to low down.
I love this "cage" and so does my girl.

Re: Ferplast Mini Duna
Sorry, not a fan, they aren't popular here in my house, my Syrian mothers hate them, 2 pregnant females have gone nuts when placed in them as a maternity cage
It is being eBay'ed ASAP

Re: Ferplast Mini Duna
Right Iv changed my mind on that 1,
I got this "cage" when I got Amy and she was a baby but now shes definatly out grown it. Well sayin that she could live in it I supose as it does have a half another level and a fair bit of stuff in there for her but I just think she needs more room/floor space.
Iv just bought her a Imac Fantasy.

Re: Ferplast Mini Duna
My syrian has a cage like this. It's 20 inches wide, 13 inches front to back and 10 inches high, is that a duna? Is it too small for him do you think? The woman in the shop told me it would be fine. It was £29.99 from the local pet superstore. They did have all sorts of weird looking ones with tubes and ones that looked like rotastack type, but she said they can chew through the plastic on those ones, so I went for the ferplast.
The bottle doesn't drip but it is too low, and now I know a mouse bottle will fit, I shall get one of those instead. Koda makes his bed underneath the upper floor, I took out the house as he not only slept in it but pee'd in it as well and it was horribly smelly. I agree the food bowl was far too large and I bought a small ceramic one. He seems happy enough, it's ten times larger than the one in the pet store that he had to share with 6 of his brothers lol.
If it's not suitable let me know and I'll save for a bigger one before he grows too large.
