Default The Mighty Alexander

So, although I'm new I thought I would give a review based on my experience with the Alexander cage from zooplus. I know that all the reviews and comments from on here helped me with my decisions as to cage and especially wheels and thought it might benefit someone

It's a massive barred cage coming in at 101 x 52.5 x 51 cm. It also has a very deep base which is good for lots of substrate. At the minute it's £69.90 on zooplus. This is a rostastak genus cage on top that we used for a week for Bolt while we ordered his new cage, just so you can get an idea for size (excuse the cardboard, it had just been unpacked!)

My favourite thing about this cage is that it comes with 3 shelves (one middle), 3 houses and steps so you really can arrange it any way you want. There are so many possibilities! If you are going to use the shelves then it can create a big drop in the middle of the cage, so it would probably be best to get a hammock just in case, although luckily we haven't seen him fall off his shelf yet. Also, the side small doors are quite high up in relation to the base, so you may have to use steps or bridges etc to help your hammy reach to come out. I have got a photo of his 11" senior wodent wheel in his cage, I just have it on my phone at the second but if anyone wants to see so they can work out the size etc then I'd happily put it up.

Pros:
- Huge size, brilliant for a Syrian
- Plenty of shelves if wanted
- Room for a 12" wodent wheel
- Deep base for substrate
- Loads of opportunity for changing the layout to how you want
- Not overly heavy
- Great for interactions
- Easy to take apart for cleaning

Cons:
- Using the shelves can produce a long drop
- It's best to plastikote the shelves/housing
- You have to have a large area to put it in
- If you aren't tall it may be hard to reach the big door at the top, meaning you'd have to make do with the smaller side ones (may be harder for taming?)
