Default Ferplast Maxi Duna Multy

Ferplast Maxi Duna Multy

This cage is hard to get hold of in the UK, especially online. I suspect it is kicking about in pet shops and gardening centres though!

I got mine from the German eBay site, it was expensive but I had saved and knew I wanted to invest. It was £64, with postage costing 19 euros. It arrived in less than 3 days!! In one piece. Was very impressed:

I know that this UK gardening centre has 2 or 3 in stock, they are discontinuing though so have taken them off of their site. Next day delivery is only £6:

Welcome to Porton Garden Aquatic & Pets - Contact Us / Opening Times

Size
99 x 51,5 x h 36 cm

Plastic quality
Same as the Mini Duna. I'd say my Zoozone 2s are slightly more durable.

Bar spacing
Less than 1cm. I keep my hybrid in it, he cannot escape, but he can monkey bar

Pros
Size
Bar spacing suitable for all species of hamster
No meshing needed
Deep base for plenty of substrate and with the tank style there's always the option to go deeper than the base
Neutral colour, looks good with my interior and with the natural habitat
Large opening lid that's easy to grip
Secure - peace of mind if you have other pets
Bottle hole in a good position
Small 'locks' that hold lid in place are easy to use
Good 'investment' cage as suitable for all, doesn't need mesh maintenance

Cons
I found it difficult to clip the top to the bottom, though that might just be me!
You have to attach the wire lid to the plastic top, I hate things like that so found it stressful
Doesn't come with a suction bottle holder

I really, really like this cage! I'm really glad I bought it. For a little while, I thought it was smaller than the Zoozone 2 my hybrid was in before and it bothered me, but the 0.5cm lost is made up by being able to have toys on top of his 2nd level

I have wanted one of these for ages! Ever since buying the normal Duna Multy years ago. If I can find one cheap enough I'd buy one to replace my ZZ2 as the meshed lid is clunky and annoys me

^ that's perhaps one of the cons i forgot to add - hard to come by and when you do, a bit expensive.

i managed to save up for this though and think it was worth it, it's gonna be a keeper for me for many years!
