CritterTrail Starter Habitat
I bought this cage along with my hammie, Nayru, at a local pet store. The cage has a clear plastic top and bottom, and wire sides, with a nice locking mechanism for the front door and a pop latch on the top.
The wheel, for a syrian, is too small and fairly noisy. It also came with a water bottle (that was very nice, with a steel tube and no way for the hammie to chew the bottle itself), a food dish (rather large compared to others I've seen, and Nayru started flipping it over after about a week), and a woven hanging hole (Nayru never used it, but it's solid and looks comfortable, your hamster may vary.)
My biggest issue with this cage is it's size. It's very small for a Syrian, with no space for them to really run around, especially with the small wheel. It's would be suitable for a dwarf hammy, but there's little space to place toys. If paired with a second cage and connected with tubes, it may be more fitted for larger hamsters, but that isn't very cost-effective. My second issue is that for larger hamsters (Or strong willed hamsters), can pop off the top of the cage with their heads and escape. Nayru popped it off a few times and managed to escape, but we caught her quickly.
If you're looking to house a dwarf hamster temporarily, I'd probably check this cage out. If you're housing a hammie permanently, I'd avoid this cage unless you're connecting it to another cage.

Well said! Dwarfs actually require as much space as Syrians. But they can't pop the top with their heads. I have this same exact cage. It's really handy for vet trips. I wouldn't recommend it for long-term housing either. Nuh-uh! And Magellan, my Syrian who stayed in it for an evening as I prepared his first bin cage, highly agrees.

The main reason I got the cage was because the hammy was free with the cage, but now I know better and we moved her into a TARDIS-looking Ava Tower cage tonight.

Re: CritterTrail Starter Habitat
I think this is a really attractive cage, and I would love to have one to connect to my bin. It looks like a brilliant addition to a long, wide cage in which a Syrian can stretch and romp w/o encountering walls.
And the best news is, bins are easy and cheep! A little diy and you have something that could really meet a Syrian's need for space and this really fun playhouse to boot!
How cool!

I have to give you warning for that cage. The side pieces (for attaching tubes) pops out easily, and makes an easy escape. And just below
that hatch, the plastic comes off easy. My hammie, actually choked
from that peice.
Its best to tape up the hatch, but over all it's a great cage, and my hamster
loved it!

I know! Nayru almost twisted them off a few times so we had to tape them as well. She's in a better cage now and we're returning the starter habitat because of our issues.

heh, The cage, is just perfectly fine. All great quality, yet I had to tape
up the whole bottem part. Yet mine was attached to two other cages,
but too much to clean ;o;
But we're not sure if she choked on that part of the plastic. We think
It just might've been a part of her toy instead.

Re: CritterTrail Starter Habitat
I had these growing up with past hams and I never really liked it.
It was so hard to clean and so small
One of my dwarfs figured out how to pop open the front door with his teeth! I was about 8 years old and I sat there and would close the door and a sec later he'd pop it open, id close it and we did this for several hours back and forth until my mom got home and I dont remember exactly what she did but she some how locked it in place with a lock and ties haha
