Default Fop Criceto Gimmy - Cage Review

FOP CRICETO GIMMY
This is a three level barred cage. It measures 58X32X45CM.
It comes in both black or white bars and a variety of different coloured bases.
The price varys from around £40 - £60

The cage above has the tubes added, these do not come with the cage.

This is a stock photo showing the cage as it comes.

Pros
The cage itself is very well made and reasonably easy to clean.
It has a lot of space for toys.
The levels cover the majority of the cage so prevents falls from heights.
Tubes can be added to the cage.
Levels can easily be moved to allow for large toys and wheels to be added.
Access to the cage is reasonable, with a door at the bottom of the cage and a door on the top of the cage.

Cons
The accessories that come with it are pretty useless, the house is awkward to assemble and clean, the two wheels that come with it are too small and the bowl is made of plastic which is easily destroyed.
It does not come with a water bottle.
If tubes are added they are hard to clean and not really big enough for an adult syrian.
Being a barred cage they can chuck all their bedding out.

Great review Spirit. This looks like a good sized cage with nice deep base. Is the bar spacing OK for dwarfs? As long as you did not have a bar chewer it looks like it would provide space and interest

The bar spacing is just under 10mm, so would probably be ok for some dwarfs depending on the size of the individual. However I personally have never tried dwarfs in it so input on the bar spacing is gratefully recieved.

Hi Spirit,

Nice review. What are the plastic connectors you have used to attach the tubes? I'm just wondering if they would work for any work cage.

Thanks!

The connecters are FOP tubing connecters they fit into most normal size doorways. They are for sale in many shops and websites including this one;

apart from Ferplast and marchioro cages which have too large a door as there are gaps left. Found this out from experience unfortunately.

Spirit. It looks like your hamster and my hamster are twins ?

The hole in the Fop cages is approximately 13cm x 11cm so anything significantely different will not fit the Fop connecters.
