Just wanted to add a disclaimer concerning plastic tank cages:

Since the bottom trays are trapezoidal instead of having vertical walls, the actual floor space is less than the maximum dimensions. Thanks to an HC member who has a ZZ2, I have the following measurements for the floor space with 4" of bedding:
ZooZone2 : 43.5cm x 93.5cm which is ~4067 square centimeters of usable floor space.

That's nearly 1000 square centimeters difference!

In contrast, for an aquarium:

30/40 gallon breeders have inner size (taking into account glass thickness) of 44.5cm x 89.5cm which is 3983 square centimeters of usable floor space.

The difference in effective floor area between a 91cm x 46cm outer size aquarium and a 100cm x 50cm ZooZone2 with 4" of bedding is 84 square centimeters, or an 8.4cm x 10cm rectangle. The difference will be in the aquarium's favor if there is even less bedding in a ZZ2 and in ZZ2's favor if there is a very tall layer of bedding.

Likewise for other plastic tank style cages with non-vertical bottom tray walls, the effective floor space is significantly less than the maximum advertised dimensions.

I had said in my original post that this is a crude calculation based on dimensions (as im not able to measure the internal dimensions of every cage), but thanks Hamtastic, much appreciated

Oh yes, completely understandable! Sorry, I didn't mean to make it sound critical. I was actually trying to call it to people's attention that once they have a size range in mind, how important it is to measure from realistic bedding heights, as I often see people referring to some minimum floor area they supposedly meet with their, say, bin, but they use outermost listed dimensions to base their calculation on, while the bottom of their trapezoidal bin is small. This was an example of a significant difference in practice.

The data I've collected is: name, dimensions, type (wired/tank/part wired), main materials, bar spacing (if available), and if any shelves are included. I've calculated a crude floor space in square centimetres (just by multiplying the width by the depth), but this does not include any shelf space or any other space available (i.e tubes).

This is not a definitive list of cages, as there may be some I've missed off, or some information may differ slightly between websites (ive gathered info from a few different websites).

The graph below shows the cages in order, by my calculated (approximate) floor space, and thought this might be interesting to other members.

I was wondering if you could add the Gabbia Criceto Oliver in the graphs... It has 90cm lengh x 52cm depth x 38 cm height. Thanks a lot !!! =)

I was bored this evening so I thought I would do a new graph just looking at my top 15 cages at the moment, comparing the width and depth.

I've started the Y axis (depth) at 45cm and the X axis (width) at 70cm, just so the points weren't too close together.

Hope this is useful.

(I've also added this to the first post in the thread)

Is the Imac Fantasy's measurement for just the ground level?

Looking at the area it is counting one level. The first post says that no shelves are included - the levels are essentially full sized shelves.

The dimensions for the ferplast Mary are wrong. I think you've got the boxed measurements.
It's 80x50x37
