Rolo also has never even looked at the shelves with a view to chewing them as far as I can see - they seem very sturdy although I guess a determined chewer might get a liking for them

Fuzzy is addicted to chewing plastic and is slowly eating her shelves but she has been in her Cambridge for a year now and they are still useable. I bought a cambridge shelf from P@H for another cage. You just have to order them. It came with the ladder and a food bowl and cost about £4.
I had to take Fuzzy out of the gabber when I tried her in it after one evening because she was eating her way out via the plastic around the clips. She has also destroyed about 8 exercise balls, so I think on balance the Cambridge shelves must be fairly robust.

Well, I haven't had any problems with the clips yet - not to say it won't happen, as Bob is busy chewing her plastic food bowl.

I'll grab a picture of the offending shelf tomorrow, to show how it met it's demise!

Can anyone confirm for me the depth of the tray? Oh and also if possible, the height from the tray to the highest point...
I'm definitely going to get one of these - i think ... thanks

I tried a Savic Cambridge but could not get on with it, it is a nice looking cage but I found the shelving system very frustrating to put together and take apart, the doors were also a bit flimsy and I thought the one on the front could, I believe be opened from the inside by the hamster if he pushed against it in the right place. I also thought the bars were not as rigid as the ones on the Hamster Heaven cage.

Moo has this cage,my sister got it for me.
I find it difficult to remove the platforms when cleaning him out and also he chewed up the foodbowl straight away so I went out and got a ceramic one.
I really wanna get one of the blue sputnik thingys that you attach to the roof he would love that I am sure

i have a savic cambridge cage. Its brilliant! my hamster Kimmi had loads of space and liked hanging upside down on the roof, she was soo enteraining to watch. the wheel was too small for her because she never went in it because she couldnt fit! so i bought a silent spinner and attached it to the bars. i could see her weight bounding of within days.
