Thanks for the review.
One of my male dwarf hamsters has this cage, the bars seem to be okay for him but the cage looks huge with one little dwarf in.

Just spotted your shelf unit in the photo with the three Cambridges - it looks EXACTLY what I'm after, can you remember/tell me where it's from???

Julie I just PMd you but not sure if it sent it as my PC crashed.... Hopefully you'll check back here! My shelf unit is from IKEA http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/90057600

Gah! They look perfect but are too wide for the space I have

Thanks for posting anyway!

I actually saw this cage today and had a good look at it. I really like the fact that it has a side opening - it makes for easy interaction I think. I find with the plastic base and lid type you can't get to each other as easily....

Looks good - I'm constanly thinking of updating cages and this may be a possible for Fuzee

Thought i would post some pics of Maxs Cambridge on here.
I really like this cage but the shelves are ever so slightly annoying to move for cleaning

And his beloved wodent wheel

He now sleeps under the red shelf, it looks a lot more cosier down there and is a bit darker for him too

Overall this cage gets a thumbs up from me, it has great space and plenty of room for toys etc.

It looks great, Jayne. I also have the shelf problem but have managed to wedge them in place and clean them without moving them now which makes it easier. I love the Cambridge, I think Rolo is very happy in his and I'd love another one for a future hammy

A question - how long do the shelves last?

I ask because, as we all know, hamsters are chewers - and Bob had a smaller version of this when she was growing up, and was through the shelf in a week!

She selectively chewed-up every part of the shelf which connected it to the cage - the result being she dropped the entire shelf on her!

Am just wondering if other Savic users had noted this?

Thanks Julie! I will need to see if i can work my way round it also, they dont get very dirty quickly but they're still a pain!
Gus - i dont think Max has thought about chewing his shelves.... there are no marks on them and he is too busy sleeping, eating, peeing, pooing and drinking to be doing anything else
