Question Confirmation on the white belly gene

Hello I am a novice hobby breeder.
I have a female that I am 90% sure has the white belly gene but I cannot find any examples of the gene that looks like her. I am familiar with the gene and have done alot of research on all hamster genetics. My hands on experience however has only been with cream, cinnamon, black and satin.
This is my first test breeding for wh along with others. Her mother was a beautiful jet black hamster with only white paws and her sire was a golden dominant spot banded who carries black. I would just like some guidance from someone who has seen a hamster similar and can give me some knowledge about the variances in the amount of white shown in hamsters that carry the white bellied gene.

I pretty sure she is silver black with white belly but maybe a bad dom spot?she only has 4 siblings and they are 2 silver black and one golden domspot banded. The spot on her forehead and the white near were her cheekflash would be is the only thing I'm not certain of because I have seen any photos or descriptions similar. She also has little flecks of white what looks like roan but please correct me if I am wrong I though only creams and cream carriers like sables etc.
could show roan.

Thank you in advance

Default Re: Confirmation on the white belly gene

Hello,

She looks quite blue in one photo or is she black and it is bad lighting? Sorry, I forget the hamster variant of it, in rat world it is russian blue, I know it is a more common variant in US syrians than UK.

Personally, if there was any doubt, I wouldn't risk it, given the complications and horrible outcomes that cna happen with the WB gene

Sorry I can't be more help, our Moderator Souffle is better at gene issues but the mod team are a bit sttretched atm! Shes a cutie though

I agree I definitely won't be risking breeding her.
I also thought she was blue but because the pairing doesn't have any known dilutes or Russian blue the next closest color based of the genetics I could think of was silver black. But her siblings also look very blue. Maybe someone who has seen it can give a answer.

Thank you though
