Default Golden Umbrous LH x Black Spotted SH

Hi there,
I'm new here and am really wondering primarily one question.
One of my friends has a hamster that has recently had babies (days ago) and we are all in the veterinary field and got curious what colors/patterns this cross will end up. I'm a bit of a genetics freak, (horses primarily but I can't stop myself from researching when I have a question) So I've done a bunch of searching and reading and decided the sire Mr. Fluffy Pants is a Umbrous Golden longhair and dam Eclipse is a Black Dominate Spot shorthair. What should we expect from this crossing?

Right now they are about 50/50 dark and pink, some appear to have spotting. In my research I got as far as a 50% chance of spotting (dbdbxDbdb) and that's pretty much it. Thoughts?

It very much depends on if they are carrying any shared recessives. Black is recessive. only thing you can tell for sure is that there is likely to be both straight colours and also dominant spots. If no shared recessives colour wise they will all be golden some with umbrous. If the mother does not carry LH they will all be short hair. Do you have any pics of the parents.

Ive attached pictures of Fluffy Pants and Eclipse, it assures at least some are not black so we're really interest to see what grows out <3 So is Longhair recessive then? Meaning dad is homosygous rwcessive or whatever genes and mom is either Heterozygous longhair or non long/short only? Their owner was hoping for a black and white long hair

Hi there - sorry I had to remove the litter pic as per forum rules. For the protection of pups we do not allow pics without eyes open. It can disturb mum and cause her to destroy the litter and it is best that she is left strictly alone to raise her pups as this gives the best chance of them surviving. Stress can make mum lose milk as well.
I took a look and there appears to be some agouti pups there probably golden / umbrous golden some domi spots. The parents share some recessives as the pale pups are most likely either cream or cinnamon. These are the most commonly carried recessives. You won't see pattern on those so quickly. They can also have umbrous. Yes LH is recessive. You won't be able to tell the coat type for a while though. Cinnamon pups will start to show the agouti shading (paler bellies) in a bit and creams will remain pinkish till the cream coat comes through then will shade cream all over.

Sorry, I didn't realize they weren't allowed, mother is not at all stressed and doing quite great. I won't post any more pictures til their eyes open though.

Thank you for all the information, all of us are very excited to see what happens and you've curbed my curiosity to research it
