Default Worried... 😰😰😰

I am worried that my female SH Syrian ( Bie ) is pregnant. I found my male LH Syrian ( Sumo ) was in Bie's cage for maybe whole day ( I left at 8am and back at 8pm, I'm not sure he is been there for how long ). Its on 7 December. And few days ago I found there is an nipple line ( or maybe its not, photo attached ).

Can it be knows of she is pregnant or not by photo only?
Also, it it possible if they were mating during day time?

1st is when I placed her in her sand cage while I am cleaning her cage

2nd photo is her nipple line, I think?

Hi there. I am really sorry but I can't see the photos properly - the file size is too big for the page. More about that below.

If your male syrian has been in your female syrian's cage then it is very likely that your female syrian is pregnant - that would be what attracted the male to go in her cage in the first place when she was on heat. Not certain but very likely.

Someone more experienced in pregnant hamsters will come along soon I am sure, but for now you need to be on pregnancy watch. I think it's 16 days after mating before pups are born.

There are some important things to do or not do before she has the pups. Sometimes you won't know until she has actually had them but nearer the time you can often see baby bumps and she would look a lot wider at the back.

Try not to worry, but you will need to think about trying to find homes for them when they are born. They can go to new homes after 6 weeks old.

For shrinking the file size of photos, the easiest way is on Windows "Paint" if you are using a Windows Pc. You just open the picture in paint, click on resize, select "pixels" rather than percentage and type 700 in the top box - the photo should visibly reduce in size, then "Save as" so you keep your original and this one is the resized one. Then on the forum page, click on "edit" under your post, select "advanced options" and scroll down to "Manage Attachments" and click on that. When the attachment window opens, "remove" the photos you have linked. Then click to add the new resized ones and upload them. Close the window and go back to your post. You will need to delete the picture links that are in the body of your post.

Then go to the paperclip at the top of your post and select it and the two new links will be there - select all and they will install in the post and show up as photos when you click submit.

If you don't have Windows paint there are other apps that can resize or you could message a moderator and ask them to do it for you

Thanks for the useful information, I have resize the photo, but I cant edit it anymore as this post was made more than 24hrs ago. I think I will just post the resized one in replies.

Its been 11 days since the male coming to the female. and its a day time.
could them possibly in heat during day time? and they are mating in day time?

Pregnant or not, I have preparing her cage in labor mode, big hideout with lots of tissue inside, no wheel. Just big hideout and feeding bowl ( made from ceramic, 11cm diameter, will it be harmful for the babies later? ).

New habit : She like to fill her bowl with her wood shaving. I clean it yesterday night, this morning, her bowl is full of wood shaving again, even more than before. Should I take the bowl out, pour the wood shaving and her leftover dry food to the cage and clean her bowl again or just leave it be, and continuously adding more food everyday?
