Re: New robo might be pregnant
Wow she's adorable!
I think you'd be much better off rehoming any pups (if she is pregnant) yourself rather than giving them to Pet-Co. That way, you know the pups will go to good homes where they can be properly cared for in an adequately sized cage instead of ending up as a child's pet who doesn't understand that hamsters shouldn't be woken up or grabbed.
When she gets closer to her due date, I wouldn't disturb the nest, even to check for pups. You just have to play the waiting game. You could try giving her a more open nesting house, if she isn't too close to her due date (really sorry I can't remember). Treat her as pregnant, removing any dangerous toys and giving her protein supplements. A varied diet should help. Leave her completely alone, except to change food and water, once you suspect she may have pups soon and after the birth, until about two weeks or when their eyes are open.
It may be a good idea to have some spare cages lying around if you don't already, or keep any spare cages you might be planning on binning. They don't have to be huge, but I wouldn't go too small. This would just be for once the hamsters need separating into gender groups or away from their siblings. If you don't have enough cages, some Ikea Samla bins should work without a lid as I can't imagine robo babies escaping. Then you can avoid meshing them. There isn't any point in starting to collect cages until you can guarantee she's had a litter, so wait until after birthing to save money.
Hope this helps. If she is pregnant, fingers crossed everything goes well.

There are other ways to find good homes, providing that she's even pregnant & has a successful litter.

I really wouldn't recommend giving them to petco if at all possible. Unfortunately, they don't tend to care for their animals properly A local ad may help or interviewing friends and family that may be interested! There's lots of people out there looking for a first pet who would be happy to spend less by adopting from someone with an oops litter Hope all continues going well with her

Re: New robo might be pregnant
She was in a tank with 3 males, that is complete negligence on the pet store. Maybe they used her as a breeder ham for all I know. They had about 20 or so white robos in a cage with a real sick one in the middle.
Would be nice if she's not pregnant but the chances are high that she is. There is a rescue company who would take the babies as well. They have a solid screening process, asking for 3 references on the application. That is much better than Pet-Co
But it would be nice if it turns out that she's not pregnant? Either way things will work out somehow

Re: New robo might be pregnant
Well it has been 11 days now since I brought Paris home from another city. She looks the exact same as the day I first saw her. No babies so far so good. She still looks bumpy in a couple places but she could be a good sized robo. I don't think that she is gaining or losing any weight. So there is a real good chance that she will not be having babies or at least I really hope so.
They might be really cute but I don't want to be responsible for finding them all good homes. I would worry where they would end up and since I'd love them all so much it would be heart breaking to watch them go. Plus I might end up keeping one and I certainly do not have any room left or tanks left for another pet. So I'd have to rehome all of them.
I've been keeping an eye on her, monitoring her body size instead of lifting up her house. But her personality is a little skittish but she will take treats from me and she'll run on the wheel in my presence as well. She's a cute little robo. All robos are cute! IMO

Re: New robo might be pregnant
She's an absolute beaut! I couldn't help but fall in love with the pictures! My next hamster will be a Robo, I was unsure for a while but after those pictures, I can't not!
Fingers crossed she's not pregnant, like you, I couldn't imagine letting any of them go and would end up with a Hamster army!

Re: New robo might be pregnant
A hamster army Gemma lol!
How great that she will take treats from you (did you hear that Flower and Fairy)?
Yes babies certainly would be really really cute but as you say the heart break of parting with them (or accruing and army of hamsters) would be awful. At least there is a rescue on hand if needs be.
I love white robos. One day ...
